Raven on the Wire

Jack o’ Neil was lost at war.
His lover Jacqueline could not wait anymore,
So she flew in her disguise
Dressed up like a soldier to bring him back alive.

One by one, to the storm, to the gun,
Two by two, and still I run to you.
Red, red sun, raven on the wire.
Deliver us from fire tonight.
Deliver us, raven on the wire.

 Jacqueline followed a dove.
She found her lover’s jacket buried in the blood.
“Goodbye my love, I’m going home,
Where I’ll become a nun and pray for every soul.”

One by one, to the storm, to the gun,
Two by two, and still I run to you.
Red, red sun, raven on the wire.
Deliver us from fire tonight.
Deliver us, raven on the wire.

 Deliver Us.

Jack o’ Neil crawled back alive
And he slipped into the convent
In a black and white disguise.
She saw his face and fell to her knees.
“The masquerade is over, so marry me.”

One by one, to the storm, to the gun,
Two by two, and still I run to you.
Red, red sun, raven on the wire.
Deliver from fire tonight.
Deliver us, raven on the wire.
